TAFE NSW Scholarship Opportunity for ONSHORE International Students

TAFE NSW is offering up to $30,000 for students to move to Orange in Central Western NSW to study the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. The course starts on 12 October 2020 so now is the time for any onshore international students to apply.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


The attached flyer for the Scholarship is probably mostly relevant to domestic students, so it’s more important that students can either access the information in this email OR check the course criteria at Diploma-of-Early-Childhood-Education-and-Care_International Students


In order for an applicant to meet the scholarship AND TAFE NSW course enrolment criteria, they must:


  • Be willing to relocate and live in a regional location in or around Orange, NSW

  • Be able to attend 20 hours of face-to-face training in Orange per week for the duration of the course

  • Be able to complete 240 hours work placement (assisted by TAFE NSW to arrange)

  • Have a year 10 or equivalent education

  • Proof of Academic IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL (iBT) 60 with no score lower than 5.5 in any band (reading, writing, listening and speaking)

  • If English is your primary language and you have attended and satisfactorily completed at least four years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed in English in one of the recognised countries, including at least two years between years 7 and 12. (Recognised countries are Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, USA)

              - OR Completion of three years of secondary,     vocational or tertiary education taught and assessed in English in one of the recognised countries above

              - OR Achievement of PTE Academic: minimum overall score of 50 and a minimum score of 50 in each of the four communicative skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)

              - OR achievement of a minimum pass at 'B' level in each of the four components (reading, writing, listening and speaking) of the Occupational English Test (OET)

              - OR Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English scale of 169

  • Hold a valid 'Working with Children Check'

  • Be physically fit to undertake tasks associated with the work placement (such as manual lifting) and  first aid responses including performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while kneeling on the floor

  • Maintain an appropriate visa for the duration of the course.
